Pure Maple Syrup Products

The hard maple tree(Acer-Saccharum) is only native to the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada- which makes pure maple syrup exclusive to this part of the world. Pure maple syrup is an "all natural" and delicious sweetener. All natural means that the minerals are left intact as compared to "processed cane sugar" which is cane sugar that has been stripped of all its nutrients. We call it "pure" maple syrup because many grocery store syrups are corn syrup with 2% real maple syrup added.

In the spring we tap the hard maple trees when the nights are below freezing and days are above freezing temperatures. The liquid is collected and then concentrated by boiling using an evaporator. It takes approximately 35-40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup.

Pure Maple Cream is a very popular spread used on crackers, toast, biscuits & cornbread. Some people refer to this product as maple butter- but there is no cream or butter in it- just pure maple syrup. Maple cream is best kept in the fridge before and after opening, but it will keep for up to 3 or 4 weeks in the cupboard.
